Sunday, September 30 | 2:00 PM | Pir Vilayat Center at Inayat Manzil

On Sunday afternoon, September 30^th, at 2:00 we are having our official opening of the Pir Vilayat Center with Aziza Scott. The opening will included memories of Pir Vilayat, practices and end with refreshments. Everyone is welcome.

If you haven’t heard, over the past several months the Abode has been in the process of transforming the house, where Pir Vilayat, Pir Zia and their families lived at the Abode, into a center for the study and celebration of the legacy of Pir Vilayat. The focus of the Pir Vilayat Center for Meditation and Retreat will be on Pir Vilayat’s teachings, Sufi teachings in general, interspiritual dialogue, and the interface of science-psychology-spirituality.

Instead of being used as general housing at the Abode, the Pir Vilayat Center will house visiting teachers, small group retreats and programs. This orientation is more suited to maintaining the Baraka of the space and structure.

We have already had the joy of having Wahhab and Batina Sheets as teachers in residence for the month of August and Pir Zia stayed there for the three day retreat that just finished this past weekend. We are developing a web site and library/archives (more to come about this in the future). We will have links to inform people of Pir Zia’s schedule and teachings, and publications from Omega Press.
