Screening of “Call of the Forest: The Forgotten Wisdom of Trees” (2017)

7:30 PM | Friday, July 20 | Fattah Family Room

This exquisite 2017 documentary directed by Jeff McKay features the global efforts of botanical scientist, wise-woman sage and acclaimed author Diana Beresford-Kroeger, the last living person of the ancient Celtic royalty of Ireland and widely recognized among Canada’s First Nations as the “medicine tree woman.” The film explores the most beautiful boreal forests in the Northern Hemisphere, sharing amazing stories behind the history and legacy of these ancient forests while also explaining the science of trees and the irreplaceable roles they play in protecting and feeding the planet.

Screening of “Magic Pills” (2018)

7:30 PM | Friday, July 13 | Fattah Family Room

The Abode is pleased to host one of the first American premiers of the new film Magic Pills  (2018).  Canadian homeopathic doctor and film director Ananda More takes us on a global trek to witness and experience homeopathic’s successes with AIDS patients in Tanzania, a clinic in Kolkata India treats up to 1,000 patients daily — largely for cancer including brain gliomas, the thwarting of an infectious epidemic in Cuba, and institutions researching the quantum physics to explain homeopathic remedies’ efficacy. Today there is a concerted attack to wipe out homeopathic practice in the US and Canada. More’s beautifully directed film is a superb introduction to this 200 year old medical practice as a natural and safe alternative to conventional medicine.
