Happy Fall to all!
Yesterday we had a great work morning with volunteers, residents, and friends all clearing brush and trees from in front of the Abode’s future cafe. After years of individual residency, the Abode will soon have Sherdyl Manzil open for a community coffee shop and cafe! Thanks to all who are bringing this from possibility to reality! This coming weekend, the Abode hosts its final Village Visit of 2017: October 27-29. We have hosted 17 people over the year in these new, exploratory immersions into spiritual community here at the Abode. For those nearby, come join us on Saturday morning, October 28, for another work morning beginning at 9am with lunch to follow at 12:30pm. Come meet folks investigating the Abode and share a meal, a moment, a memory!
Come, come, whoever you are! Naima Khabira Brown and Aziza Scott, current and former heads of the Inayati Order’s Esoteric School, will offer a weekend retreat between the buzz of summer and the hubbub of the holidays. November 10-12, starting at 10am Friday, join these two masterful teachers for “The Soul’s Journey” retreat at the Abode. Finally, join the Abode for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 23! Bring your family and join the Abode family in celebrating this special holiday. More details will be forthcoming, but keep your eyes on www.theabode.org/thanksgiving for information, times, etc.
