Abode Village View – Week of 4/24
“O rosebud, thy blooming gives me the impression of my Beloved’s countenance.” – Hazrat Inayat Khan
Dear Ones All,
Things continue to revivify here at the Abode, on so many levels. We have completed our first month of programming, which was chock full, to be sure. The year began with our pre-season town hall, inaugural Village Visit, two Inayati Order events back-to-back, a visit from a Skidmore College American Studies course, Suluk Academy, installation of a new (albeit temporary) Abode sign, Unity of Religious Ideals Week, The Sacred Art of Storytelling with Inayati Order Board member and UU minister, M’ellen Kennedy, and our first ever Facebook Live feed of our Earth Day Ziraat Lodge, led by Shakur Don Johnson.
Abode Ambassadors used their discounts on attending these programs – learn more about Abode Ambassadors! Many Ambassadors also used their discounts on a wide range of new items in the Abode store – pins, window decals, mugs, t-shirts, and bandanas!
Abode Resident Nabila Mariana Evans also continues to bring the energy and spirit of the Abode off-campus in “Harmony in Worship” and “Love in Action” activities. We’ll share more about this and continuing opportunities soon!
This coming week, while we are hosting the Inayati Order’s Wisdom of the Prophets – Sufism and Judaism, we have our second Village Visit. This will be a time to welcome interested and curious seekers, along with our new khadims, to the Abode. A Community Potluck Monday, May 1st, will help introduce everyone to the larger community and the spirit of caring and fun that is a part of the Abode.
Emily has a list of upcoming events still open for registration, so read below and we look forward to seeing you!
Wings out, hearts up!
