From lilacs and daffodils to new volunteers and programming, the month of May continues to bring renewal to the Abode. This month our programs season brought us a variety of eco-spiritual and interfaith teachings rooted in the Inayati lineage. As we near the middle of the month, we encourage you to return to the Abode for a number of our May programs!

Wild Woman Project-New Moon Circle
Amanda Salima McCall will lead this month’s circle to provide space for women to be themselves and grow to be their best selves. Gathering around the ideas of Sisterhood, Respect for the Earth, and Co-creation, circles will include Guided Meditation, Sharing, Intention Setting Ritual, and more. Click here to register

Abode Village Visit
What is an Eco-Sufi Village? And what does it mean to live, work, study, and/or worship in such an environment? Village Visits answer that question with a glimpse into Abode life – through Sufi class and dialogue, a work morning, elemental tours, farmer-to-table meals, Universal Worship, and accommodations in historic Shaker buildings. While we previously mentioned The Feminine Resurrection program, the teachers have decided to move the program later in the year. That weekend, however, is not only our May Village Visit, but we also invite you to join us at the Abode for a thrilling communal work experience preparing our Mountain Camp for the 2017 season. Come meet Josh Ramos, our Mountain Manager, create clear paths from huts and cabins, revivify the sanctuary, and enjoy sweet work in the company of friends new and old.

More details about work opportunities will be forthcoming!

Also, make sure to join us for our Fifth Monday celebration on May 29 – this will be a Memorial Day cookout with music, frisbee, and all sort of fun and fellowship. More details to come!

June finds Suluk Academy returning for graduation June 6-11, a Farm Class on Thursday, June 15, activities by the Inayati Order Center at the Abode around Pir Vilayat’s Urs and birthday (June 17 and 19 respectively), and the Solstice on June 21. Keep your eyes open for more details on June activities, but do plan to join us!
