Dear Friends,
This week finds Netanel hosting his foundation’s Future of (Inter)Spirituality from June 15 – 20. On June 15, Evan Thaler-Null will lead us in a monthly farm class, Tillage, Planting, and Tending, where we will observe many stages of tillage and growth on the Abode Farm. The class is from 4pm – 5:30pm and is open to all. Click here to register. Also, join us for dinner at 6pm and Sufi Message class at 7pm.
June 17 – 18, the Inayati Order Center will host Pir Vilayat’s Urs and Birthday. The Urs begins Saturday June 17 at 7pm in the Meditation Hall followed by Zikr at 8pm, open to all. Universal Worship will be on Sunday at 11am in the Meditation Hall followed by a celebratory birthday brunch with some of Pir Vilayat’s favorite ice cream flavors!
The rest of June finds more beloved groups using our Mountain Camp. On June 17, Flying Deer Nature Center will host 2017’s Flying Deer Day, a celebratory time for games, nature, activity, great food, and more! For more information visit www.flyingdeernaturecenter.org. June 22 – 26, BaitCon returns for four days and three nights of liquid nitrogen ice cream innovation.

June 21 is the Solstice and we’ll celebrate with our monthly New Moon Women’s Circle. Amanda Salima McCall will lead the Circle where we’ll explore Guided Meditation, Intention Setting, Ritual, and more. The Circle is open to all who identify as women. Click here to register.
June 23 – 25 is a Village Visit that will include Friday night Dances of Universal Peace, Saturday Abode Work Day, and special Eid festivities on Sunday. On June 25, we will celebrate Eid Al’Fitr, the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Imam Salim Chishti will lead us in Eid Salat (prayers) at 8am in the Meditation Hall followed by Universal Worship at 11am led by Tara Chishti. Imam Salim has also offered to give a talk on Eid to all Abode visitors that day. At 12:30pm we will celebrate with Eid brunch. More details to come.
The end of the month is Season of the Rose (28-03 July), the Inayati Order’s annual Sufi camp at the Abode’s Main Campus.

June Harmony In Worship Series
Nabila Mariana Evans, recent Suluk Academy graduate, will host a trip Ramadan Night of Power at Dergah al Farah in New York City on Wednesday June 21. This event will include Ramadan Iftar dinner, Islamic prayers, and an all night zikr with the dervishes of the the Nur Ashki Jerrahi Order in honor of the night the Prophet received his first revelation.
We will leave the Abode Wednesday afternoon and return Thursday afternoon. Iftar dinner starts at 8:15pm, prayers and zikr will go on untill the early morning. For those who want to return to the Abode by train Metro North has a train into Poughkeepsie that departs NYC at 1:50am.
First three to RSVP can to travel with Nabila. Additional transport may be coordinated with extensive interest.

Saturday, June 17
– 7:00pm Urs of Pir Vilayat – Meditation Hall
Please come and join us in celebrating the Urs of Pir Vilayat at 7:00pm on Sat., June 17. In the Sufi tradition teachers are referred to as Lovers of God, the Beloved. The death of the teacher is regarded as union with the Beloved and the death anniversary is celebrated as a wedding anniversary. We’ll celebrate the Urs with music, dates stuffed with almonds, yellow roses for everyone, Pir Zia will share the Silsila, the list of the names of all the Sufi teachers coming down in the chain or line until Pir Vilayat. After the Urs their will be a period of doing zikr in remembrance of Pir Vilayat interspersed with short quotes from his alchemical sayings collection for those who wish to stay.
Sunday, June 18
– 11:00am Universal Worship – Meditation Hall
The Universal Worship will remember the alchemical process Pir Vilayat taught here at the Abode and Pir Zia will give the sermon at the end of the service.
