HuDost’s core musicians are Moksha Sommer and Jemal Wade Hines. Having toured the US, Canada, and Europe constantly since April 2006, HuDost has grown and expanded, travelled rocky and glorious terrain and marveled at all they can learn and explore. Moksha and Jemal Wade, in this time have grown as artists, as seekers, as a couple and as a family. In 2013 their amazing son was brought into the world. Since 2015 they have also been highly engaged activists, doing advocacy work as Kentucky Congressional District Representatives for ONE (a non-profit organization working to end extreme poverty and, specifically, the sexism of poverty).

Upcoming Programs
Abode Open House – Kinship | July 27 – 29
“It would seem that God created an ‘otherness’ so that we could find our way in mutuality to kinship. Margins manufactured by God, perhaps, so that we’d dedicate our lives to their erasure. We are charged not with obliterating our diversity and difference but instead with heightening our connection to each other. As it says in the Qur’an: ‘I create.'” ~ Greg Boyle, Barking to the Choir (2017)
Spiritual seekers of all sorts will have the opportunity to tour the campus, learn about the land’s rich history of spiritual community, participate in ecological and spiritual discussion, and more. Nur Azad will join us to share practices to help raise us above that which divides us. We will be looking at the topics of love, justice, and kinship through the lens of Adaab. We will also be completing a community work project.
