Abode Village View – Week of 7/24

My heart, as a tree in the forest, stands patiently waiting.” – Hazrat Inayat Khan

Dear Ones All,

There is so much happening at the Abode these days!

Please join us at the Abode tonight (Sunday, July 23) for a Feldenkrais workshop with Mary Armentrout, current art resident at Mall of Found, founded by Sarah Steadman.  Feldenkrais is a body-mind practice of body movement and will be held at 7pm in the Fattah Family Room.

For our women, please join us tonight (Sunday, July 23) for our monthly New Moon Women’s Circle with Amanda Salima McCall. The Circle, a guided meditation which will include Sharing, Intention Setting, Ritual, and more, begins at 7pm in Quddus, the Abode Meditation Hall, and is open to all who identify as women.

For the time being, we will be focusing our efforts around Thursday night classes and zikr.  As such, we will continue to have Tuesday dinner, but there will be no class to follow.  Come and join us Thursday nights for dinner at 6pm and class at 7pm in Quddus, the Abode Meditation Hall.

While this is a quiet week at the Abode, this weekend will have some exciting opportunities.

It is time for the monthly Abode Work Morning!  We will work from 9am – 12:30pm, and have lunch at 12:30pm.  We will have meaningful work that will contribute to growing the Abode and hope that you can join us!

Join the Abode at 7pm on Saturday, July 29, for a night of imagination and sound – let your mind be a theatre for the presence of Sufi mystic, Hazrat Inayat Khan.  Writer-director-producer Amin Dawdy has constructed an audio-imaginal experience bringing listeners into the enduring presence of this Sufi teacher.  Come, come, whoever you are to Listen, Listen, Listen to ‘My Heart’s Song’ (suggested donation $5-15).
Join us at 7pm in Quddus, the Abode’s Meditation Hall, on Saturday night.  There will be a brief intermission including snacks.  The suggested donation covers snacks and will be shared between the producer and the Abode’s re:Vision fund, expanding Abode spiritual programming by funding teachers, scholarships, and other initiatives.

Finally, on Monday, July 31, join the Abode community up the Mountain Camp for a 5th Monday Potluck.  Please bring a dish to share and meet up the Mountain Camp at 6pm.  We will have a few musical instruments and a bonfire, so please come join the celebration!
