Abode Village View – Week of 7/3

Dear Friends,

As we near the end of Season of the Rose, we’d like to thank all of our new and familiar friends who were able to join us for the annual Inayati Sufi Summer School. For the past four days, Season of the Rose guides, teachers, and participants have had the opportunity to explore the theme of the Spirit of Guidance together as a community at the Abode.

Tomorrow, July 3rd, at 11:00am, all are invited to gather in the courtyard for a farewell naming and blessing ceremony. The Meditation Hall and Barn will receive new names and blessings from Sarafil Bawa (Pir Zia) and the Abode will share gratitude and blessings with the Inayati Order for the next phase of unfoldment and the move to Richmond.

July 5 – 9
Spirit Fire
Spirit Fire returns to our Mountain Camp for a five-day celebration of life and spirit through music, movement, workshops, drumming, and fire spinning! This year marks Spirit Fire’s 15th anniversary at the Abode. We look forward to welcoming them back on the mountain for another year of celebration and ceremony.

July 13
Abode Farm Class – Reading the Fields: Crop Health and Selection
Hot days and abundant summer harvests. In this mid-season moment we’ll survey the health, productivity, and characteristics of various crops on the farm. Discussing nutrition, pests and disease, harvesting, pruning, and cultivation we’ll get a sense of the various needs and habits of important farm crops and how we choose the varieties we grow.

Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the outdoors. Open to all experience levels. Click here to register.

Abode Village Visit
Village Visits are an entry point committed to answering “What is the Abode? What is an Eco-Sufi Village?”  These Friday through Sunday immersions involve music and dancing, outdoor exploration, Farm(er)-to-Table meals, mini albeit meaningful work projects, Sufi studies, engagement with the elements, Universal Worship, and more!
