Universal Celebration led by Batina & Wahhab | Sunday, August 16 | 11:00 AM EDT
Greetings and blessings! Instead of a formal Universal Worship service, Batina and Wahhab are leading a Universal Celebration for the Abode monthly service on Sunday, August 16, at 11:00 am Eastern Time.
The theme is “Finding Joy in Troubling Times,” and it will include a lot of music, many celebrants, and opportunities for group sharing. Click here for the link for the service.

In honor of National Peace Month, the Abode will be sharing quotes from Nobel Peace Prize laureates. This week we highlight Yemeni politician and 2011 winner, Tawakkol Karman.
“A journalist by profession and human rights activist by nature, Tawakkol responded to the political instability and human rights abuses in Yemen by mobilizing others and reporting on injustices. In 2005, she founded the organization Women Journalists Without Chains, (WJWC) which advocates for rights and freedoms and provides media skills to journalists. In addition, the organization produces regular reports on human rights abuses in Yemen, documenting more than 50 cases of attacks and unfair sentences against newspapers and writers to date.”
“Tawakkol Karman was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011 in recognition of her work in non-violent struggle for the expression rights, safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work in Yemen.”
