Dear Ones,
Thanks to all who joined for our Sema Friday night and our Abode Work Morning on Saturday – it was nice to see you and have great work accomplished on multiple planes! We are also thankful to our volunteers as we are now saying farewell to many volunteers who are returning to life governed by school schedules. We thank you and appreciate your dedication and work at the Abode!
Next Sunday, September 3, join us on the Mountain for Universal Worship in the White Tent and then Sunday potluck brunch. The Abode will provide something small, so do bring a side dish, a dessert, or a beverage to share. Let’s make use of our beautiful Sanctuary and Mountain Camp! A shuttle will leave at 10:30am and another at 10:50am and the kitchen will be open for your dish.
Fanna-fi-Allah, Sufi Qawwali music group, will return for a concert at the Abode September 14 at 7:30pm! There will be a farm class and special langar dinner beforehand. Go to www.theabode.org/sufimusic for more details.
To reflect and celebrate the abundance of voices and identities present in the world, we’re creating programs that invite people of color and other groups that widen the scope of perspectives at the Abode. We’ll have the Heal the Healers retreat September 22-24 – all are welcome – which will have a special concert with Dr. Randy Weston, who will also be in public dialogue with Pir Zia before the concert. SAVE THE DATE – Abode Weekend is October 6-8. A Thursday night full-moon option is available starting October 5th with exciting possibilities on Friday – more details to come. Saturday will be the Annual Gathering Meeting and fall activities. Sunday will be a Universal Worship celebration! And much more!
