Quiet Hours– Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. daily.
Limited Cell Phone Use – Treat yourself to a cell-phone-free experience! Phones must be kept on silent, and may not be used in common areas. Kindly use your phne only when necessary and be sure to speak out of hearing of others. Consider telling your friends and family that you’ll check texts in the evening and/or respond infrequently.
Open flames are Strictly Prohibited- No flames, candles or incense allowed. Smoking is prohibited everywhere on campus, except for the Staff Parking Lot in the far back corner. Dispose of cigarette butts after putting them out fully.
Non-Prescription Drugs and Alcohol Not Allowed– Non-prescription drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited. Anyone who possesses or uses these on the Abode campus will be required to leave immediately, will not be allowed to finish the program they are attending, and will receive no refund.
No Violence/Bullying/Sexual Harassment /Firearms – Physical, emotional, and psychological violence, bullying, and harassment are not permitted for any reason. Abusive language has no place here. Firearms are strictly forbidden everywhere on the Abode property.
Hunting of any kind is not permitted on the Abode property.
Restricted Areas – The hill behind the Meditation Hall is a quiet area reserved for guests on silent retreat. Please do not walk in this area. Small retreat cabins dot the landscape. Please maintain silence around the cabins when a retreat is in progress. The driveway, apartments, and homes behind and around Mughni are private residences. Parking or walking in these areas is prohibited.
Vehicles – Vehicles may only be parked in the guest parking lots. A vehicle may be parked in other areas in an emergency or for a maximum of 5 minutes to load or unload provided the car does not block a driveway or other vehicles.
Children – All children 16 years old and under must be supervised by an adult. Children are asked to observe all our guidelines including quiet times and areas of restricted use.
Animals – Pets are not allowed on the Abode campus. Service Animals trained to perform a task directly related to a person’s disability are allowed. Owners of Service Animals, please notify the Abode Programs Manager prior to your arrival. Service Animals must be leashed/harnessed whenever in public spaces, and may not be left unattended at any time.
Pond Use Not Allowed – The Abode pond is off limits to visitors and guests to the Abode. We cannot guarantee your safety and ask that you not enter or swim in the pond for any reason or under any circumstances.
Pond Area Safety – No one under 18 years of age may enter the area surrounding the pond without an adult. There must be at least 1 adult/guardian for every 2 children 13 years old or younger. Running, roughhousing, food, drink, glass containers, going to the bathroom, smoking, and consuming alcohol are prohibited in the pond area. Appropriate manners and language are to be used at all times.
